Time is flying. By the end of March we need to be out of our apartment in Munich, sell our car by the end of February, move stuff to a storage place nearby, buy thousands (literally) things for the boat and beside all this need to work full-time. Our days are packed these days. "Cutting the strings" from life as we all know it is really challenging. We also have to deal with all the administrative stuff like sorting out our bank accounts, insurance... you name it. No wonder our place looks like a mess.
There are deliveries of little and larger parcels coming almost every week or day now and I sometimes wonder how all this will fit on the boat. We have created dedicated corners in our apartment for things to go on the boat, things to go in the storage and things to go to Italy (we will keep our little apartment there). The above picture shows part of the boat corner with the generator on the left, which we got delivered yesterday.
We had grey and unpleasant weather for the last couple of weeks... this doesn't really add to go about things in a passionate way. I took the following picture this morning. Doesn't look too bad, right? But in real it looks very depressing.
Today we have an appointment with our doctor to discuss first aid stuff for the boat and to plan or actually get some immunization. I will be traveling to Italy next week for business and luckily can combine it with moving some boxes to our place there as my meeting will be close by. Another business trip the following week and that should be it - hopefully. My last day at work will be somewhen during the first week of February.
Here we are having brunch with good friends last weekend. Damn, are we looking tired and pale.
We are also planning a "farewell party" in March. We have so many interesting people and friends around us, and most of them want to see us before we leave. We thought it would be a good idea to get them all into one place and have a huge party. Currently we are looking at several places to party and I can tell you that this is not and easy task if you are on a budget. We started a list with groups and people we want to invite and are looking at an amazing number of close to 150. We will let you know how this project goes along in a couple of weeks. :-).
In the meantime I am ordering more stuff, packing boxes and creating lists.... Fun times. /k.
Yay, party!! :-) Not sure we'll make it to Munich by then, but we'll definitely see you in the summer, right?!
ReplyDeleteBtw, do you know this site (for vaccination questions and such)? Pretty useful, and the Tropenklinik in Munich off of Leopoldstr. is very good.

Wow, you're close on time! Must be very exciting and intense.
ReplyDeleteRemember to slow down and take a deep breath now and again. :-)

@ Fabian. I've been there and will get the more "tropical" shots by the end of the year or next year... depending on our plans. Very good suggestion. Thanks a lot. And yes, we will definitely see each other in summer :-)
ReplyDelete@ Mike. I bet. Very exciting times and I can only recommend you doing it. The prep work is fascinating. So many things to experience and learn. Pretty cool.
